Weinsberg X-Pedition: Off-road camper based on Mercedes Sprinter

Volkswagen will present the world premiere of an air-inflatable kitchen and a flexible bed system developed exclusively for the new California Beach at the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf, opening on August 28. The modules, created in cooperation with Staff Bubble, can be installed or removed in minutes without tools. The kitchen weighs less than 10 kg, the bed 12 kg in double and 6 kg in single configuration. The system allows the vehicle to be used as a full camper or as an everyday family car.

ADAC Hessen-Thüringen has released the PiNCAMP Most Wanted 2026 ranking, based on page views by German users. The top three in Hesse are KNAUS Campingpark Eschwege (1st), Camping- und Ferienpark Teichmann (2nd), and Kassel Camping & Wohnmobilplatz (3rd). New entries include Camping Fuldaschleife (9th) and Seecamping Mainflingen (10th). Only campsites with at least four reviews and an average rating of at least 7 out of 10 were considered.

According to the PiNCAMP Most Wanted 2026 ranking, 39 of the 100 most sought-after campgrounds among German campers are located in Germany, nine more than the previous year. The Camping- und Ferienpark Wulfener Hals on Fehmarn remains the top choice, while newcomer Rosenfelder Strand Ostsee Camping in Schleswig-Holstein directly ranks second. Italy follows with 25 campgrounds and Croatia with 23. The ranking is based on page views by German users on PiNCAMP.de from January 1 to July 31, 2026.

On Monday evening, a driver crashed into a camper van on Kanzlers Weide in Minden. The cause of the accident is still unclear. A man who was in the trunk of the motorhome at the time of impact was thrown out and seriously injured. According to police, the rear doors were open when the accident occurred. The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries; he is reportedly from Minden-Dützen. An accident investigation team was on site to clarify the circumstances.

The Knaus Camping Park in Lübben, situated among waterways and nature, remains a popular destination for Spreewald holidaymakers. Long-term campers like Torsten and Elke Ringvet from Oranienbaum-Wörlitz have returned to the site multiple times.

According to the Pincamp portal, the Harz-Camp Bremer Teich campsite has been named the most sought-after campsite in Saxony-Anhalt for 2026. Two other campsites from the Harz district also made it into the top ten.
