La Strada reports restrained demand for motorhomes and caravans after several years of growth. According to Marco Lange, customers take longer to decide, compare more and negotiate harder. In new vehicles, digital assistants repeatedly cause quality problems that workshops then handle under warranty. In equipment, streaming is replacing satellite reception, while diesel heaters and electric compressor fridges replace gas-powered absorbers. Lange considers a fully electric motorhome unrealistic in the foreseeable future due to high battery weight, space constraints and insufficient charging infrastructure. Demand for air conditioning has more than doubled over the past two years.
