According to CIVD data, the number of registered motorhomes in Germany increased from 417,297 in 2016 to 1,046,383 by the end of 2025. Additionally, about 800,000 caravans are registered. In 2025, 94,134 new recreational vehicles were registered nationwide, a record for Europe. Market turnover reached around 14 billion euros. However, total industry turnover fell by 6.4% compared to 2024, with new vehicle sales declining by double digits. Experts attribute this to high prices and overproduction following the pandemic peak. Dealer inventories are expected to normalize by the end of 2026.
