Since 19 June 2025, the G 607 gas inspection has again been a separate requirement for motorhomes and caravans with a permanently installed gas system. It must be carried out every two years regardless of the MOT and usually takes 20 to 30 minutes. The inspection costs approximately €40 to €80 depending on the provider, while a new regulator and hose cost about €30 to €60. Inspections most often fail due to regulators or hoses older than ten years, leaking connections or corroded steel pipes. Overdue inspections incur fines of €15 for 2 to 4 months, €25 for 4 to 8 months and €60 for more than 8 months.
