Knaus Tabbert, the German manufacturer of motorhomes and caravans based in Jandelsbrunn, reported a net profit of €3.8 million for the first quarter of 2026, compared to a loss of €4.7 million in the same period last year. Revenue declined by 15% to €249 million, and total unit sales fell 8% to 5,190 vehicles.

Shift toward compact models

Sales of motorhomes plummeted 30% to 1,474 units, while camper van sales rose 19% to 1,417 units. The company attributes the shift to the economic crisis in Europe and changing consumer preferences toward smaller, more affordable vehicles. The return to profitability was also supported by workforce reductions.
