Motorhome and caravan manufacturer Knaus Tabbert, based in Jandelsbrunn, closed the first quarter of 2026 with a net profit of €3.8 million, compared with a loss of €4.7 million a year earlier. Revenue fell 15% to €249 million, and sales dropped 8% to 5,190 units.
Sales of large motorhomes plunged 30% to 1,474 units, while camper sales rose 19% to 1,417 units. The company attributes the recovery in profitability to staff reductions and a shift in demand toward compact models amid Europe's economic downturn. The long-standing trend toward ever-larger motorhomes has given way to a preference for smaller vehicles.
