Skoda increased the permissible towing weight for its Elroq and Enyaq electric models. German company Dethleffs introduced the c.fold folding caravan, which CAN extend an EV’s range by up to 100 km.

Skoda towing upgrades

Skoda has raised the maximum braked trailer weight for its Elroq and Enyaq electric vehicles. For variants with the largest battery, the limit for the Elroq rises from 1,000 to 1,800 kg, and for the Enyaq from 1,200 to 2,200 kg. Exceptions are the Elroq 60 and Enyaq 60 with smaller batteries, which retain their original ratings of 1,000 kg and 1,200 kg respectively. The changes apply only to new cars.

Dethleffs c.fold caravan

German company Dethleffs has unveiled the c.fold folding caravan concept, designed for towing by electric vehicles. Weighing 775 kg and standing 1.65 m tall when folded, its aerodynamic shape CAN, according to the developer, add up to 100 km of range for a mid-size EV. When parked, the top section rises to create an interior height of 1.9 m.
