Turkish manufacturer Yıldız Karavan, which has produced caravans and motorhomes for about 18 years, has combined production and after-sales service at its technical center in Lüleburgaz. According to IMARC Group, the global caravan and motorhome market reached $65.4 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to $115.3 billion by 2034, with a CAGR of 6.31% from 2026 to 2034. Europe had over 6.3 million caravans and motorhomes registered at the end of 2022, up from 5.2 million five years earlier. CIVD data show that in 2025, more than 215,000 new caravans and motorhomes were registered in Europe, including about 161,000 motorhomes, up 0.6% year-on-year; Germany led with over 94,000 registrations, while motorhome registrations rose 10.7% in Italy and 19.1% in the Netherlands. The company aims to expand into the European market.

German tourists traveling in motorhomes from Germany to Turkey camped around Lakes Meke and Acıgöl in the Karapınar district of Konya. Daniel Brau said they entered Turkey about 6 weeks ago and will leave the country about 6 weeks later. After visiting Niğde and Cappadocia, the tourists described the lakes as a pleasant change. Two local teenagers offered them gözleme.
Sümeyra Aydın Kasap and Özgür Yiğit Kasap from İzmir began living full-time in a motorhome after Özgür had a bicycle accident that broke his jaw. They spent about a year preparing the motorhome for full-time living, installing a powerful electrical system and heating. They estimate a similar motorhome with modifications would cost around 1,600,000–1,700,000 Turkish lira today. The couple said rent costs disappeared after the move, but fuel, maintenance, insurance, water and electricity expenses remain.

Turkish manufacturer Tosbiq has introduced two compact caravans, the TK 240 and TK 260. The TK 240 has a body length of 2.40 m and a total length of 3.88 m, with an unladen weight of 640 kg and a maximum permissible weight of 1,000 kg (downrating to 750 kg is optional). The TK 260 is 20 cm longer (body 2.60 m, total length 4.11 m), with an unladen weight of around 800 kg and the same 1,000 kg maximum weight. Both caravans feature a kitchen, a wet room with a portable toilet, a diesel parking heater, a 12-volt refrigerator, a 40-litre fresh water tank, a 205-watt solar panel, a 100-Ah gel battery and an MPPT solar controller. Prices start at 16,999 euros for the TK 240 and 17,499 euros for the TK 260. The models are designed for off-grid use without relying on a campsite.
The Niğde Camping and Caravanning Association will host a gathering at Safir At Çiftliği from September 18 to 20. The programme includes morning yoga, horse riding and evening campfires with guitar music. Association president Yavuz Şekerci said priority is given to children and families, so events are scheduled on weekends.
An Australian family of four completed a 24-day trip around Turkey in a rented campervan with over 200,000 km on the odometer. The route started in Istanbul and followed the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, with stops at Gallipoli, Ephesus, Cappadocia and Dalyan. A breakdown led to a local mechanic ordering a part from Izmir and fixing the van within a day. The family noted that campsites in Turkey are fewer and more rustic than in Western Europe, and that foreign visitors pay 200–300 dollars for major sites for a family of four.
An event to initiate the creation of a campsite for caravans at Akpınar Recreation Area in Gölmarmara will be held on Saturday, 19 September, starting at 20:00. It is organised by Gölmarmara Municipality and the Gölmarmara Development Local Action Group Association. The programme includes protocol speeches, folk dance and percussion performances by the municipality, and live music by the municipal band; at 23:00, a campfire gathering with conversation and music will take place.
At the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf, the Turkish caravan Ankaravan 2.40 Micro was presented. The body measures 2.40 m long, 2 m wide and 2.45 m high, or 3.90 m including the drawbar. The European version has an unladen weight of approximately 440 kg and a maximum permissible weight of no more than 750 kg. Inside, there is a kitchen with a two-burner hob, stainless steel sink and refrigerator, a dinette that converts into a double bed, and a wet room with shower and toilet. An optional third berth is available. The indicative price is around €10,000; a solar panel, heater and toilet can be added as options.

Vietnamese traveller Tran Dang Dang Khoa stayed in Turkey from early August to late September 2026 as part of a round-the-world road trip. Due to visa restrictions, he could not drive through Syria and Iraq and entered the country on an e-visa, while his small truck with Vietnamese licence plates arrived by sea at the port of Yaromca near Istanbul. Khoa visited Ankara, Cappadocia, Trabzon, Antalya and Mardin, staying at free campsites and coastal spots. He noted high prices: petrol at times exceeded UK levels, a coffee in central Istanbul costs 120 lira, and the Museum Pass costs 165 euro. He plans to continue through the Caucasus, then cross the Caspian Sea to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and possibly Afghanistan; he will spend the winter in Kazakhstan and aims to return the vehicle to Vietnam on 1 June 2027.
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül chaired a meeting to evaluate boat parks, where plans for new parking areas for boats and motorhomes across the city and measures to prevent irregular parking were discussed. The issue of long-term and uncontrolled use of motorhomes in public spaces had previously been raised in the Silivri Municipal Council by AKP group deputy chairman Celalettin Yazıcı, who called for designated areas and long-term planning rather than bans.
German dealer ANKER Caravan has brought the Turkish-made Ankaravan Mini 270 caravan to the German market. The body measures 2.70 m long (4.20 m with drawbar), 2.00 m wide and 2.40 m high, with 1.90 m of interior standing height. The base version weighs 490 kg, and the permissible total weight ranges from 750 to 1,000 kg. The Full package at €14,800 includes an AL-KO braked axle, diesel heater, solar panel and 50-litre fridge. The Ultra version at €16,999 adds a cassette toilet and water heater. The caravan is designed for 1–3 people and can be towed by electric cars with sufficient towing capacity.
Two sites for motorhome parks have been designated in Trabzon, in the east and west of the city. MP Yılmaz Büyükaydın of the AK Party said design work is underway in coordination with TULAŞ. The facilities are intended to provide not only parking but also basic amenities for visitors.

Turkish brand HotoMobil presented the new version of its Ronin XL over-cab motorhome at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The model sleeps three and is based on the Fiat Scudo, Opel Vivaro or Citroën Jumpy. Dimensions: length 5.60 m, width 2.07 m, height 2.60 m. The rear features a U-shaped lounge with three windows that converts into a 120×195 cm double bed; the over-cab area has a 160×190 cm bed. The washroom includes a fixed sink and toilet, while the kitchen at the entrance has a two-burner induction hob and a stainless steel sink.
Turkish manufacturer Hotomobil introduced the Urban Badger offroad travel trailer at the 2026 Dusseldorf Caravan Salon. The model is designed for two people and four-season use, featuring a one-piece aluminum monocoque body, an offroad chassis with a single KNOTT braked axle, 15-inch rims with all-terrain tires. It measures 5.05 meters in length, 2.28 meters in width, and 2.03 meters in height, with 1.45 meters of interior headroom. Curb weight is 740 kg, and gross vehicle weight is 750 kg, leaving a payload of only 10 kg. It is classified as an EU O1 trailer, towable with a standard B category driving license. Pre-orders are open, but no price has been announced.
An inventory of campsites and caravan sites is ongoing in six provinces in Turkey's Black Sea region. The effort aims to create a unified register of such areas.
Turkish Ministry of Trade customs enforcement seized 387 kg 348 g of skunk from a caravan at the Ipsala border crossing in Edirne. The vehicle, entering Turkey, was flagged by risk analysis for X-ray screening; after sniffer dogs Beta and Axel alerted, officers found 173 transparent bags of the drug hidden in natural cavities of the caravan. The Ipsala Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation, and the vehicle and drugs were confiscated.
In Eskişehir, parking of caravans on streets and roads has been banned in six districts. The decision was made by UKOME to ensure vehicle circulation and maintain traffic order. The ban applies to travel trailers and motorhomes in the Sümer, Kırmızıtoprak, Vişnelik, Osmangazi, Hoşnudiye, and Orhangazi districts. Violators will face fines under Road Traffic Law No. 2918.
Construction of a caravan park has begun in Çorlu, Turkey, adjacent to a recreation area developed by the municipality in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mayor Ahmet Sarıkurt inspected the site and said the park will boost alternative tourism and provide comfortable facilities for caravan owners. The project is expected to be completed shortly.
