A couple purchased a used camper van for retirement travel but quickly became disillusioned. The municipality of Eschlikon plans to build a closed shelter for motorhome parking. Caravan sales in Switzerland boomed during the pandemic, with overnight stays increasing by 60%. Although new motorhome registrations fell by a third in 2025, demand for camping remains high.
