A fire broke out in a caravan on a campsite in Keutschach am See. A 71-year-old German permanent camper noticed the smell of burnt plastic and found white smoke coming from the electrical connection of a neighboring unoccupied caravan. He and other campers tried to extinguish the fire with 15 fire extinguishers, but by the time firefighters arrived, the caravan was fully engulfed. Fire departments from Keutschach and Reifnitz quickly brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading. No one was injured. The cause is believed to be a technical defect in the caravan's distribution board. Police have ruled out arson. Damage is still being assessed.
