On the morning of 20 June, a truck collided with a camper on the A1 highway in Italy, between Modena and Bologna. The camper was carrying a family from Rome. Six people were injured, including a 26-year-old mother and her 7-month-old son.
The infant was airlifted in serious condition to the Maggiore hospital in Bologna, where his condition later stabilised. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
The section of the highway was temporarily closed to allow rescue operations and the landing of a medical helicopter.
