Two men, aged 29 and 39, were sentenced by the Moulins criminal court on Tuesday, July 28, for causing several fires on Friday, July 25, between Franchesse and Bourbon-l'Archambault. The caravan they were towing without tires caused sparks that ignited the fires, destroying 126 hectares of vegetation, two farm buildings, and a house occupied by a former volunteer firefighter. The 39-year-old, Ludovic Renaud, received 18 months in prison with a warrant for arrest and a three-year driving ban. The 29-year-old was sentenced to six months in prison, fully suspended with a two-year probation period.
