Two women, aged 26 and 75, were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a motorhome and a car on Wednesday at around 4 p.m. on the D939 road in Marsac, north of Angoulême. The 26-year-old driver of the car and the 75-year-old passenger of the motorhome were taken to hospital in serious condition; the 75-year-old driver of the motorhome sustained lighter injuries. Fourteen firefighters with six rescue vehicles and motorcyclists from the Angoulême gendarmerie were deployed. Traffic remained closed and diverted until 6 p.m.
