On the morning of June 3, a fire broke out at a campsite in Niederkrüchten (Viersen district, North Rhine-Westphalia). The blaze completely destroyed five caravans and also damaged a car, annexes, and sheds. One 41-year-old woman suffered mild smoke inhalation and was discharged after outpatient treatment. Preliminary investigations suggest a technical defect in one of the caravans may have caused the fire; the inquiry is ongoing.
