Users and sports clubs at the Son Hugo municipal swimming pools in Palma complain that caravans permanently occupy part of the public car park. One affected user says caravans take up more than a quarter of the spaces reserved for pass holders and families. At weekends, when swimming and water polo events are held simultaneously, drivers park in double rows and on hedges. A Change.org petition demanding the removal of the caravans has gathered more than 350 signatures. On 14 October, three vehicles burned in the same car park after a caravan housing a gender violence victim was set on fire.
