On August 19 at 9:55 AM, a parked camper caught fire at the public parking lot of Amnam Park in Busan. The fire was extinguished by 10:15 AM, and no injuries were reported. Fire officials estimated the damage at about 5 million won.
According to preliminary findings, the fire started from a battery located on the floor near the bed. The owner said he had left the battery charging from a portable power bank. Firefighters suspect thermal runaway of the battery as the cause; an investigation is underway.
Firefighting efforts involved 67 personnel and 18 pieces of equipment. The camper was completely destroyed.
