On Thursday morning, a camper on Torsdam in Altforst burned out completely. The fire was reported around 10:10, and by the time firefighters arrived, the vehicle was already fully engulfed in flames. The fire started on the driveway of a house with a thatched roof; residents noticed smoke from the glove compartment and pushed the vehicle away from the building.
During the fire, one gas cylinder exploded, leading to an increased level of complexity (according to one source, a medium level of danger was declared). Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control and neutralize two other gas cylinders. The camper was completely destroyed and declared beyond repair. Thanks to the owner's quick actions, the thatched-roof house was not damaged.
