A motorhome was completely destroyed by fire on Thursday morning on Torsdam in Altforst. The owner discovered the fire when smoke came from the glove compartment and immediately pushed the vehicle away from a nearby house with a thatched roof. The motorhome was declared a total loss. The fire was reported around 10:10 a.m., and by the time firefighters arrived, the motorhome was fully engulfed. During the fire, one of the gas cylinders on board exploded, and the fire was escalated due to the severity. Firefighters eventually brought the fire under control and secured two gas cylinders. Thanks to the quick action of pushing the motorhome away, the thatched-roof house was spared.
