On August 24, 2026, at around 21:30, a car towing a caravan caught fire on Austria's Karawanken motorway A11 near Rosenbach. The 67-year-old German driver noticed a sudden loss of power and pulled into a truck parking exit, where flames began to emerge from the engine compartment. The driver managed to detach the caravan, and both occupants escaped uninjured. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the car was completely destroyed. Approximately 30 firefighters responded, along with motorway police and ASFINAG personnel. The extent of the damage is not yet known.
