Caravan Salon, the world's largest camping trade fair, opens in Düsseldorf. According to one source, it runs from August 28 to September 6; according to another, from August 29 to September 6. More than 830 exhibitors will present innovations for mobile holidays. The fair will occupy 15 halls and an open area totaling about 250,000 square meters. For the first time, separate zones for roof tents (Hall 7a) and off-road vehicles (Halls 16 and 17) will be presented.
Key trends are compact, inexpensive and self-sufficient models. Manufacturers are focusing on electricity instead of gas, as well as solar panels and large tanks for off-grid camping. For example, the Hymerⓘ B-ML has a 200-liter water tank and an enlarged toilet tank (6-7 days instead of 2), priced at 230,000 euros in show configuration. Luxury models up to 2.2 million euros and caravans up to 275,000 euros are also presented.
The motorhome and caravan market has slowed: registrations fell by 3% (63,329 units) in the first seven months of 2026, and by 2.3% in 2025. Organizers expect at least 250,000 visitors; last year around 269,000 people attended.
