Permit denial
The Han River Basin Environmental Office last month denied a riverbed use permit for Turi campsite in Turi-saengtae Park in Gyeyang, Incheon. The site falls within a planned eco-filtration project to improve water quality in Arachon and Gulpocheon.
Consequences
The campsite has been closed since 2022 and cannot resume operations. Planned 2027 work to create a water park and improve the grounds has been cancelled. A budget of 633,667 million won has been redirected to other projects. Construction of the Gyeyang technopark complicates the creation of a separate entrance. The campsite's future remains uncertain.
