The abandoned Dyksterhus campsite in the municipality of Krummhörn (East Frisia), located directly behind the North Sea dike, was sold at auction in Berlin for €234,000. The starting price was €175,000.
The 13,120 square metre plot includes a vacant residential building with outbuildings from 1959, a trekking hut and a dike. The site offers around 85 motorhome pitches and six holiday cottages. The campsite operated until 2024, after which a renovation was planned but never carried out.
The winner was a remote bidder who outbid a resident of Emden who had planned to build apartments on the site. The new owner's name and plans for the property have not yet been disclosed. The site requires significant investment due to a lack of heating, sewage problems and the presence of asbestos.
