The abandoned Dyksterhus campsite in the municipality of Krummhörn (Aurich district, East Frisia) has been sold at an auction in Berlin for 234,000 euros. The starting price was 175,000 euros. The 13,120-square-metre plot lies directly behind the North Sea dike, 250 metres from the water, with views of the Campen lighthouse and near the UNESCO Wadden Sea World Heritage site.
The property includes a vacant residential building from 1959, outbuildings, a trekking hut and a section of dike. The campsite operated until 2024, after which a new owner planned a renovation to create 85 pitches, but the project was not realised. The site is overgrown and requires complete renovation. The auction was conducted by Deutsche Grundstücksauktionen AG. The new owner and the future of the site have not yet been disclosed.
