The Palma city council (Mallorca) announced measures against motorhome gatherings, including fines and increased police presence. Spokesperson Mercedes Celeste stated that 'motorhome tourism is not desired' in the Balearic Islands and that sites will be closed. In response to resident complaints in Ciutat Jardí, authorities refused to create infrastructure for motorhome dwellers, fearing it would legitimize camping. Expansion of paid ORA parking zones has also begun.
