Palma City Council announced stricter controls and fines in the Ciutat Jardí district, where motorhomes are concentrated. Spokesperson Mercedes Celeste stated that the Balearic Islands do not want 'motorhome tourism' and will work to end such gatherings. Many people live in campers permanently due to unaffordable rents on the island. The city is also expanding the municipal police force and paid parking zones (ORA).
