Tiffin Motorhomes closed its Winfield, Alabama facility on May 12, laying off 139 employees. The company, which had produced Class C motorhomes there for 54 years, cited consolidation of operations. Tiffin Motorhomes, a subsidiary of THOR Industries, will open a new Class C motorhome production line on May 13 in Red Bay, Alabama. The Winfield plant is closing, affecting 140 jobs, with 30 to 40 employees transferring to the new line. A prior erroneous listing on a state website indicated the Red Bay facility would also close.
