Over the weekend (April 25–26), dozens of motorhomes and camper vans occupied the Gravera parking lot in Cala Ratjada (Mallorca) as part of an event coordinated with the Capdepera town hall. The lot, opened last summer as an alternative to the closed dune parking at Cala Agulla, is usually empty due to its distance from the beach. Participants used it as a base for local tourism without issues, according to transport and environment councilor Manuel Filgueiras. However, permanent camping is not planned: the site is closed at night, and infrastructure (electricity, toilet disposal) is not under discussion. Authorities will evaluate the experience and may allow similar events with prior approval.
