New RV Campground Camping & Motorhome 259 Opens in Patagonia

The Belgian Van Reempts family's world tour is halted by a persistent dashboard error in their MAN camper. Local garages and Bosch Engineering could not fix the issue. The family has contacted Belgian and German authorities for help; the manufacturer suggests driving 860 km to a Volkswagen service center.

Carlos Lami, an electrician from Argentina, fulfilled his lifelong dream by traveling Ruta 40 in a motorhome he built himself with his nephew. They plan to complete the route in 30–40 days, stopping at places they like. Part of the journey will be done by bicycle, starting from kilometer zero of the highway.

Cristina Le Mehauté, a renowned Argentine landscape designer, sold all her belongings at age 74 and moved into a motorhome. She continues to work, consulting clients remotely and traveling to project sites. Her motorhome, named La Mecha, was custom-designed to include a workspace and leisure area.

The provincial government of Neuquén, Argentina, is developing comprehensive regulations to organize and strengthen RV tourism, a segment that includes motorhomes, campervans, and travel trailers. In May, technical teams surveyed several towns, including Chos Malal, Zapala, and San Martín de los Andes, to assess infrastructure needs. The plan focuses on creating water supply points, wastewater treatment systems, and designated overnight parking areas, along with environmental sustainability measures. The goal is to position Neuquén as one of the best-prepared destinations for RV tourism in Patagonia.
