Living in a motorhome as a response to the housing crisis in South Tyrol

A new motorhome parking area has been completed in Lambioi, Belluno. The facility accommodates 12–14 vehicles with a maximum stay of 48 hours. It includes toilets, showers, and dedicated columns for electricity and water. Management will be handled by Bellunum.

The municipality of San Severino Marche has reintroduced paid parking on the Canfaito plateau during peak tourist periods. A daily fee of €5 will apply to cars, motorhomes, and camper vans on selected dates in August, October, and November. The measure aims to reduce littering and damage, as well as to protect the local ecosystem. Motorcycles and vehicles for disabled persons are exempt.

The Guardia di Finanza in Lucca province discovered two cases of illegal connections to the national power grid. In the first, a dog breeder used an underground cable to bypass the meter; in the second, a landowner supplied electricity to three motorhomes. Both suspects face charges of aggravated theft, recalculation of five years of consumption, and fines up to ten times the evaded excise duty.

Lorenzo Berti Valobra and Rita Toscano, both 37, have been traveling the world for over a year in a converted Fiat Ducato nicknamed 'Ferruccio'. They started in May 2025, driving through Canada, Alaska, the US, Mexico, and Central America.
