Raúl, 70, and María de los Ángeles, 67, swapped a new pickup truck for a used Peugeot Boxer two years ago and converted it into a motorhome themselves. Raúl handled the design, while a niece painted the exterior in a colorful style. According to Raúl, the exchange meant losing money, but it gave them the freedom to travel. The couple advises not to postpone trips until retirement and notes that traveling can be cheaper than expected if the vehicle is kept in good condition and fuel and repair costs are considered.
