Experts debunked the myth of a gas cylinder exploding in a motorhome at high temperatures. Standard propane cylinders are designed for pressures up to 30 bar, while at 50 °C inside the vehicle only about 17 bar is generated. Safety valves provide additional protection by releasing gas at critical pressure. However, butane mixtures common in southern countries perform poorly in cold, and thin-walled cartridges for camping stoves need shade.
