LPG – Liquefied Petroleum Gas

Gas & Heating

Propane, butane, autogas, GPL, gas fuel, Calor gas, LPG cylinder

LPG is a mixture of propane and butane stored under pressure in cylinders or tanks, used in motorhomes and caravans for cooking, heating, and refrigeration. The most common fuel for motorhome appliances.

LPG cylinders must be stored in a sealed, externally vented locker. Butane is unsuitable below 5°C; propane works to −40°C. Fixed LPG tanks (autogas) allow refuelling at petrol stations across Europe.
