On the last day of the car camping trip, the author and family climbed Mount Tarumae (1,041 m) from the seventh station trailhead. The round trip takes about two hours, the treeline is reached early, and sulfur smell is present near the summit. The seventh station parking lot is very small and fills up quickly on weekends. After the hike, they visited Tarumae Shrine and New Chitose Airport, then headed to Otaru to board a ferry.
