Japanese company Carstay announced that total reservations for camper vans and overnight parking spots for the 2026 summer holiday period (July 18–August 31) are expected to reach about 2,750, with GMV of about 78 million yen and revenue of about 30 million yen, all roughly 2.2 times higher than the same period last year, setting a new record. The increase is attributed to rising hotel prices in Japan, accommodation shortages near large events, and a weak yen and higher overseas costs driving domestic travel. Bookings for major events like FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL and the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival totaled 122 orders with GMV of about 12 million yen, up 1.2 times from last year.
