Lise and Torben Nielsen, a Danish couple, spend most of the year in a caravan they bought in 2000 and upgraded for 150,000 Danish kroner (about €20,000). They added an IKEA kitchen and a terrace, making it resemble a small summer house. The couple stays at the Sandersvig campsite in southern Denmark. In 2024, motorhome bookings rose by 32%, and Denmark recorded about 12 million overnight stays in campsites.
