Freya Gill and Charlie Thackeray, a 29-year-old British couple, parked a caravan in Charlie's mother's garden to save for land. They live in an Adria Adora caravan costing €19,000, with adjustable heating, towel rails and an internal water pump.

According to another source, Freya Gill and Charlie Thackeray, both 29, moved into a caravan owned by Charlie's mother to avoid high rent. They later moved the caravan to a plot in North Allerton, where they lived for over a year and saved about £20,000 (€23,281). Rent in their area would have been £750 per month. They bought an upgraded caravan for £16,000 (€18,625) with adjustable heating, a water pump and towel rails in the shower. They say caravan life is £500 cheaper than renting, and they pay no gas, water or council tax. They do not plan to move until they save enough to buy their own plot.
