Motorhome and camper insurance: why a car policy does not cover the living area and how to reduce the premium
Original source: Motor16

A standard car insurance policy covers only the chassis of a motorhome, leaving furniture, refrigerator, lithium battery and solar panel unprotected. Cover for the living area requires a specialised motorhome policy or an additional equipment module. Indicative annual premiums range from 300 to 450 euros for third-party cover with roadside assistance and from 500 to 800 euros for comprehensive cover including the living area. Premiums can be reduced by declaring actual use, adjusting the insured value, increasing the excess, combining policies and installing an alarm.
