The municipality of Ribadeo (Galicia) will bring the initial approval of an ordinance regulating the parking and overnight stays of motorhomes and campervans to the next plenary session. The document prohibits placement in protected areas, including Natura network sites, port areas, and other places incompatible with environmental protection. According to one source, Ribadeo will be the first in the region to introduce such regulation to ensure quality tourism.
The ordinance will allow local authorities to independently fine for illegal parking in protected areas, the port, and the urban perimeter, without involving regional services. In parallel, an energy service contract for modernizing street lighting in the town and parishes will be considered, including the replacement of electrical panels and optimization of the management system.
