From July 1, 2026, the Netherlands introduces a new toll system for trucks over 3.5 tons. The charge is intended only for commercial trucks, but owners of motorhomes without Dutch plates may face erroneous charges due to automatic license plate recognition. To avoid fines, it is recommended to register the vehicle on the vrachtwagenheffing.nl website.
Motorhome owners are exempt if the registration certificate shows class M1 or code SA. The Eurovignette is abolished at the same time. For cars, motorcycles, and motorhomes, tolls apply only on certain paid sections, such as tunnels and the new A24 route (1.51 euros per trip).
