An amendment to Spain's traffic regulations, published in the official state gazette BOE, grants motorhomes the right to park under the same conditions as passenger cars. Municipalities may no longer ban them solely based on vehicle type. However, awnings, tables, chairs, or other camping gear must not be placed outside, and no waste or toilet water may be discharged. Violations are treated as camping outside designated areas, with fines up to €200 in urban zones and up to €5,000 in protected natural areas. Industry association Aseicar called the change a historic milestone, ending over 15 years of legal uncertainty.
