Motorhome owners claim that most comply with the rules and criticise high hotel prices. The city has only one motorhome area with 50 spaces and a 48-hour limit, plus three campsites that fill up quickly.
In Avilés, residents have asked authorities to build a dedicated motorhome parking lot. They say that in summer it is almost impossible to find a free spot for a regular car, as motorhomes take up two parking spaces and stay for weeks. The local motorhome club supports the idea, noting that a dedicated zone would solve the problem for everyone.
