Spain's DGT has issued a new instruction (PROT 2026/04) regulating parking for motorhomes and campervans. The document incorporates a 2018 Supreme Court ruling allowing municipalities to limit parking time for such vehicles on urban roads. Previously, restrictions were based on vehicle weight and dimensions; now they consider usage patterns. The national fleet of motorhomes and campervans grew from 48,000 in 2015 to nearly 137,000 in 2026.
