An Italian court has reinforced the legal distinction between parking a motorhome and illegal camping. According to Article 185 of the Italian Highway Code, a motorhome is considered parked if it is only on its wheels, without stabilizer legs, external furniture, or waste water discharge. Sleeping inside the parked vehicle is permitted, but turning the parking spot into a campsite with an awning or furniture is prohibited and subject to fines between 100 and 500 euros.
