The Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF) reminds that while free camping in motorhomes and campervans is popular, there are restrictions. The main rule is that you can only sleep in the vehicle when parked on a road, not in nature. Some municipalities prohibit motorhome parking outside designated areas, and time limits (usually 1-2 days) apply at forest parking lots and rest areas.
