Spain's Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) has issued instruction PROT 2026/04, introducing new rules for motorhome and campervan owners ahead of Easter travel.
According to source 1, municipalities may restrict parking and prohibit camping on urban streets. Since 1 January, drivers must use a V-16 beacon light instead of warning triangles. A new road sign S-128, indicating wastewater disposal points, was introduced in 2025.
Source 2 adds that technical inspection (ITV) rules have been updated: motorhomes are inspected every two years after four years of use, while van-based campers require annual inspections.
