A modification to Spain's General Traffic Regulations, published in the BOE, now explicitly regulates the parking of motorhomes and campervans on public streets. The new rule states that such vehicles may park like any other, provided they do not extend beyond their perimeter, rest only on tires, and do not discharge fluids. Municipalities retain the authority to set general parking restrictions (time limits, fees) but cannot single out motorhomes. Spain currently has about 365,000 caravanning vehicles, including 96,000 motorhomes and 26,000 campervans.
