Spain's Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) has published updated instruction PROT 2026/04 regulating the use of motorhomes and campers. The document clarifies inspection schedules: motorhomes (category M) are inspected like passenger cars, while campers (category N) are inspected annually up to 10 years and every six months after. According to another source, campers over 10 years must be checked every six months, and motorhomes over 4 years every two years.
Parking is allowed, but municipalities may restrict long-term parking and camping in public places. One source states that municipalities have been given the right to limit parking of such vehicles within city limits.
