Nissan unveils electric camper Interstar-e Relax

German manufacturer Vario Mobil has unveiled the luxury camper Vario Perfect 1200 QS Platinum based on the three-axle Mercedes Actros 2553 LLL chassis. The vehicle is 12 meters long, weighs 26 tons, and has a living area of 35 square meters. It features slide-out sections, a garage for a car, a 12.8-liter turbo diesel engine with 530 hp, air suspension, and rear-wheel steering. The interior includes leather, walnut wood, tile flooring, a wide bed, an electrically folding sofa, several TVs, satellite internet, a Bose sound system, an induction cooktop, a refrigerator, an oven, a shower, a boiler, an auxiliary diesel heater, a 600-liter water tank, and a 450-liter waste tank.

Nissan and German converter Eifelland have unveiled the Interstar-e Relax, a camper based on the electric Interstar-e van. The model, debuting at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, uses Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology to power the standard Truma Eezy parking heater directly from the traction battery, allowing the cabin to be heated without an external power hookup and with zero tailpipe emissions. The base van has a WLTP range of up to 410 km, an 87 kWh battery, DC fast charging at up to 130 kW, and AC charging at 22 kW. The price is €89,900. Inside, there is a fixed bed measuring 1.9 x 1.6 m, a 90-liter fridge, a hob, a sink, a toilet, and 2.6 cubic meters of storage; two of the four seats can be removed. The electric motor produces 141 hp and 300 Nm of torque.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new camper van featuring increased headroom and a panoramic roof window. The model targets the growing demand for mobile homes. Details on specifications and pricing have not yet been disclosed.

Iferland's Relax conversion allows the Nissan Interstar-e to run a parking heater solely from the traction battery, without external power. The price is €89,900. The base Interstar-e has an 87 kWh battery, a 143 hp electric motor, 300 Nm of torque, and supports DC fast charging up to 130 kW. WLTP range is up to 460 km, but real-world range for a loaded camper is unverified. The interior includes a fixed bed (1.90×1.60 m), a 90-liter fridge, an induction hob, a sink, and a portable toilet. The Truma Eezy heater operates on 230 V AC, requiring a converter between the battery and heater. Iferland sells the unconverted electric Interstar for €84,900, a difference of €5,000.

Jens Lüpkes has been appointed as the new second managing director of Fendt-Caravan, succeeding Hans Frindte, who is retiring. Lüpkes will take over the main responsibilities of his predecessor, including sales, marketing, and aftersales. Andreas Dirr will continue in his role as another managing director and will take on additional internal responsibilities.

Nissan and Eifelland developed the all-electric camper Interstar-e Relax with 410 km range. Debut at Düsseldorf in late August, priced at $102,000.
