Direct Cars has unveiled the new PLAT camper, based on the Daihatsu Hijet Truck. The model is registered as a passenger car (8-number plate) and will make its first public appearance at the Japan Camping Car Show 2026, held at Makuhari Messe starting January 30. Sales begin on the same day.
Despite its compact dimensions, the PLAT offers a spacious interior with a wooden floor. Features include a pull-out table, an electric awning, and a magnetic kitchen wall for flexible layout.
