German company Sealander has demonstrated the capabilities of its floating mini-trailer, which combines the functions of a caravan and a small boat. On land it is used as a regular trailer, while on calm water it can move and serve as a place to sleep.
The model is 4.70 m long, 1.66 m wide and 1.93 m high, weighs up to 750 kg, allowing it to be towed with a standard driving licence. On water, the Sealander is classified as a category D vessel and can be used in sheltered bays, lakes and calm rivers with waves up to 30 cm and wind up to 4 Beaufort. Inside, up to six people can fit, with a sleeping area of 2.05 x 1.51 m. The price without the motor is 39,750 euros; an outboard motor costs from 1,700 to 7,500 euros, and options can add more than 12,000 euros.
