German company IBT from Grossaitingen (Bavaria) produces the amphibious trailer Sealander, which can be used as a compact caravan on land and as a motorboat on water. The model was first shown in 2011 at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf.
The trailer weighs 600–700 kg, with a maximum mass of 750 kg, allowing it to be towed with a category B license. On water, the Sealander is equipped with an outboard motor of 5–10 hp and reaches speeds up to 5 knots (about 10 km/h). It is certified for sheltered waters (category D) and designed for sailing within 1 km of the shore. In Spain, no nautical license is required for daytime sailing within 2 nautical miles of a port.
The base version costs €39,750 (including 19% German VAT). On the secondary market, prices are around €15,000.
