VanTourer unveils transforming bathroom for Fiat Ducato campers

For the 2027 season, manufacturers have introduced 16 fully equipped camper vans designed for two travelers. Most models measure between 5.4 and 6.4 meters in length, with prices ranging from 46,800 to 130,990 euros. Some models offer an optional extra bed, but the base layout is tailored for two, reducing weight and cost.

On Friday evening, eight motorhomes caught fire at a commercial site on Nordring in Berlin-Marzahn. Several gas cylinder explosions hampered firefighting. According to the Berlin Fire Department, no one was injured. The flames did not spread further, but heat damaged other vehicles on the site. 22 firefighters tackled the blaze using six hoses and eleven breathing apparatus. A smaller fire had occurred earlier that evening on Wolfener Strasse; investigators are checking whether the incidents are linked. The cause and damage amount have not been released.

Volkswagen has revised its Grand California camper based on the Crafter for the 2026 model year. Changes include a single-leg table that can also be used outdoors, wood-effect tabletop, revised handles, and an onboard computer showing fresh water, grey water and second battery status. The toilet now has standard extraction ventilation. Dimensions (5.99 x 2.04 x 2.97 m) and shape are unchanged. Base price is 83,508 euros; test vehicle price is 90,228 euros.

At the campsite on Deulowitz Lake near Guben, some permanent campers have criticised rising fees and infrastructure. Complaints concern sanitary facilities, water supply, tree maintenance and the allocation of responsibility for work. Some campers have drawn consequences. The operator has responded to the criticism.

A 1989 Bischofberger Family Hochdach motorhome built on a Volkswagen Caddy chassis is listed for sale on Bring a Trailer. It features a 1.9-liter AAZ turbodiesel engine producing 75 hp and a five-speed manual transmission. The motorhome is approximately 15.5 feet long and weighs around 2,860 pounds. Only about 40 such motorhomes were built, making it rare. When new, it had a starting price of around 10,000 pounds.

Megamobil has unveiled the Lounge 700 Max camper van based on the Mercedes Sprinter, measuring 6.97 m long and 2.04 m wide. The rear features a U-shaped lounge with an electrically lowering bed measuring 1.98 x 1.70 m. The rear-wheel-drive version has a gross vehicle weight of 3,880 kg, while the all-wheel-drive version is rated at 4,100 kg. The base price is 115,809 euros.
